Pet Loss
Graceful Passings offers gentle, informed support to help you navigate your pet’s end-of-life journey with clarity and compassion.
Pet loss is real grief and you don’t have to move through it alone.
Every journey looks different. Identify the phase that reflects where you are right now. I’ll walk beside you with clarity, comfort, and grounded care.
1. Preparation for Goodbye
Gentle guidance to help you get ready for the final stages of your pet’s life. From determining quality of life aspects, confronting early grief, carrying out rituals and developing end-of life plans to help you and your pet navigate this time.
Together, we may:
- Explore what quality of life looks like for your pet and your family
- Assist with decision-making for euthanasia and confronting early grief
- Prepare for euthanasia or a natural passing with clarity and care
- Create a personalized goodbye plan that reflects your values
- Develop grounding practices to help you stay present during anticipatory grief
- Design simple, meaningful rituals to begin honoring your bond
2. Death Support
A safe, compassionate and held space to support you and your pet during their transition. Guidance is offered around what to expect, advocating for your needs, making them comfortable, grief support and guidance on after-death care.
Support may include:
- Guidance through what to expect physically and energetically
- Holding a peaceful, intentional space during euthanasia or natural death
- Advocating for your needs (such as requesting more time) and supporting a final goodbye with your pet
- Emotional grounding and nervous system support during the dying process
- Incorporating nature-based elements (touch, breath, environment) to soften and naturalize the experience
- Immediate after-death care, grief support and guidance on next steps
3. Memorials and Rituals
Ritual offers a way to stay in relationship with your companion animal, while allowing grief to move. Support is provided to help you create meaningful, nature-rooted celebrations and rituals to help you honor your pet and integrate all that happened.
Together, we may:
- Create personalized memorial or remembrance ceremonies
- Design nature-based rituals using elements like water, earth, fire, and plants
- Feel into what kind of keepsakes or memorial projects you would like support in creating
- Build practices for ongoing connection and remembrance
- Support the expression of grief in ways that feel authentic to you
Once you’ve identified the phase you are in, select the level of support that meets your needs. All packages include compassionate care, personalised guidance, and ongoing communication.
